Overview

Research project realized in 2011-2014 at the Faculty of Polish Studies at the Warsaw University, funded by the National Science Centre in Kraków, in the course of which we have examined semiotic, semantic and communication aspects of digital discourse. The starting point has been a new concept of a sign that was developed. It has been found that the digital sign is a two-level structure and has multi aspect nature. The work on the semantics of digital transmission was enabled by the characteristics of infographic sign. The studies of digital communication has led to characterisation of functions and forms of user activity, whose communication activities depend on the net infrastructure, the description of a phenomenon of automatic intertextuality and characteristics of a digital comunication forms with a particular emphasis on network adaptation and translation process.
